Questions & Answers

Here are some answers to common questions.

Baptism is the act of being 'baptised' (literally, 'immersed' or 'plunged') in water as an act of faith and obedience to Jesus. We believe it means a few things.

First, it is an initial act of discipleship (following Jesus). Jesus told us to go into all the world, make disciples and baptise them.

Second, we believe it is a public declaration of your decision to follow Jesus.

Third, it is a sacrament, a means of grace whereby when we go under the water our old self is buried with Christ, and as we come up out of water we are resurrected into our new life in Him.

Anyone who willingly chooses to follow Jesus.

Baptism involves being fully submersed in water. You can be baptised at church, a pool, a river or even the beach - wherever there is enough water.

And, it doesn't have to be one the pastors who baptises you (although we will!). It can be a Connect Group leader, friend or family member. Just discuss it with your leader.

Lots of people come from different backgrounds and traditions, so this question comes up a bit. We believe the importance of this issue deserves and needs more of a personal touch. If you'd like to discuss this with us, please let us know in the form below and we'll get back to you asap.
