Easter Sunday

HERE AND NOW

The thing about Easter isn’t just that it happened, but that it happens.

Death shows up everywhere - our hopes, dreams, desires, and in the end, life. It’s natural to want to avoid it, keep it at arms length. Loss of any kind stings. But death is all talk. It tries to make us believe it has the final say, but it doesn’t.

2000 years ago through his death and resurrection, Jesus turned the tables.

“Since the children are made of flesh and blood, it’s logical that the Savior took on flesh and blood in order to rescue them by his death. By embracing death, taking it into himself, he destroyed the Devil’s hold on death and freed all who cower through life, scared to death of death.”

“Behold”, He says, “I was dead and now am alive forever more. And I hold the keys of death and Hades”.

By embracing death and overcoming it Jesus made death a transition not a destination; a thing we pass through that is not just the end but the beginning of a beginning of a new thing and a new life.

We don’t need to cower through life, scared to death of death because Easter isn’t something that just happened -  it happens.

Death could not hold Him down, then. It can’t hold us down, now.

One With Them

Stand one with them

Easter is a time of increased persecution for many Christians. Stand united with our church and other Christians around the globe. Let’s support those who suffer for their faith over Easter.

How do I get involved?

Stand as one with the persecuted church on 17 April 2019!

  • Make a decision to stand One With Them

  • Pledge your commitment

  • Go to work on 17 April

  • Donate your daily wage to the persecuted church

Make a day of it!

  • Draw a cross on your wrist to show your solidarity in standing “One With Them”

  • Post a picture of your cross on social media with the hashtag #onewiththem

  • Invite your friends to take part with you

Why one day? That’s a lot of money…

We’re asking every Christian to work a normal day, with extraordinary impact.

It’s a bold ask, but we’re inspired every day by the persecuted church and the incredible price they pay for following Jesus. We know you will be too!

Can you dedicate one day’s wage for the persecuted church, to see the persecuted church strengthened and the gospel proclaimed?
